Note: Editorial Board Members are excluded from the peer review process if a competing interest exists. Where an Editorial Board Member is author they must declare this in the competing interests section on the submitted manuscript.

What is the turnaround time from submission to publication?

Journals usually ask reviewers to complete their reviews within 3-4 weeks. It is hard to predict how long the peer review process will take, especially with highly technical research papers. They can take longer to review.

Manuscripts are sent out for review electronically, and all correspondence takes place via e-mail.

Authors are given up to three weeks to make changes/revisions to the manuscript once peer reviewed. Should they need more time, authors are required to contact the Managing Editor, via email, with an explanation.

Does BHTY charge authors any fees?

Yes, if the submission is accepted for publication. BHTY’s Article Processing Charge (APC) for the international specialty journal is $1150.00 USD for original research articles up to 12,000 words not including references or images, $1450.00 USD for Special Reports (15,000 words and 80-100+ references), and $650.00 USD for students currently enrolled at an academic institution. There is  no APC for negative, failed, or null research. Please plan accordingly. There is no APC for failed or negative experiements. Please see below for details regarding the BHTY waiver policy.

BHTY is pleased to offer authors the option of paying the APC with digital currency. Contact the publisher for more information if you would like to use this payment method at t.cenaj@partnersindigitalhealth.com

There is NO CHARGE for Editorials, Opinions (2000 word maximum), or BLOG submissions (1,000 word maximum).

BHTY has a waiver policy for authors from lower-middle income countries as per the World Bank (click here for details). We give fair consideration to all submissions, and believe this should not be linked to the ability to pay.
