CDHLS Deliverables
The Coalition for Decentralized Healthcare and Life Sciences (CDHLS) is dedicated to creating a federated network of validation labs and a comprehensive framework accessible to all healthcare providers—including those in under-resourced settings—to validate decentralized models and ensure they benefit all patient populations. We aim to achieve this by:
- Blockchain Assurance Assessment: Establishing and certifying a network of quality assurance labs to evaluate and validate decentralized healthcare technologies based on industry standards and best practices for security, reliability, and equity. Continuous Evaluation and Monitoring of tools and frameworks for ongoing testing and monitoring of decentralized models, ensuring they remain safe, unbiased, and effective over time.
- Best Practice Guidance: Creating best practice guidelines in collaboration with industry experts to support the development and deployment of decentralized health technologies, with demonstrated use cases across blockchain, digital assets, AI, ad more.
- Public Registry for Transparency: Publishing report cards available to the public to enhance transparency, allowing patients, clinicians, and organizations to understand the performance, impact of decentralized solutions in healthcare.
CDHLS is committed to fostering a future where decentralized technologies are understood, safe, secure, and beneficial for all global health citizens and health providers and systems everyone.
Performance Evaluation
At the Coalition for Decentralized Healthcare and Life Sciences (CDHLS), we believe performance should be evaluated based on real-world benefits to patient care, health systems, utility and cost efficiency for the best trusted health outcomes.
Effective deployment of decentralized tools in healthcare requires consideration of factors, including clinician knowledge, electronic health record (EHR) compatibility, and digital and financial literacy. To fully assess the utility of these tools, it is essential to measure the costs and benefits of their use, balancing actions with use and impact in healthcare and life sciences.
Decentralized Technology Maturity Model
To address these needs, CDHLS is supporting the Global Blockchain Association (GBA) Blockchain Maturity Assessment Model (BMM) - a rigorous, practical framework for evaluating decentralized healthcare products, services, and companies. Importantly, this model meets high standards of reliability and impartiality for private-sector technology vendors.
A “Decentralized Reliability Update” issued by CDHLS will serve as an independent validation of claims for trusted applications, fostering trust between users and vendors. These Updates will provide accessible information to the community, end users, and patients, helping to build trust, accountability, and informed decision-making.
