Florence Hudson, is Senior Vice President and Chief Innovation Officer, at Internet2, a not for profit consortium of 500 research and education organizations in academia, industry and government leveraging a high speed network and trust & identity solutions to accelerate scientific discovery and develop innovations around the Internet. She works with the Research & Education community in the identification and development of new innovations in areas such as the Internet of Things, End-to-End Trust & Security, Distributed Big Data & Analytics, and Smart Campuses & Communities.

Ms. Hudson has presented in 20 countries and is a TEDx speaker. Since joining Internet2 in 2015, she has presented at over 50 university, regional network, National Science Foundation (NSF), and global events, on the Internet of Things, communications technology trends for research and education, connected healthcare, big data, cybersecurity, diversity and inclusion.

She participated in the Cancer Moonshot Summit hosted by United States Vice President Joe Biden in 2016, and presented in the Academic Medical Centers (AMC) Security & Privacy Conference Series in 2015 on Security and Privacy Strategies for Expanded Communities, as well as Biomedical Device Security Challenges and Opportunities.

Prior to Internet2, Ms. Hudson was executive Director and Vice President at IBM. Prior roles include work at Hewlett Packard, NASA, and Grumman Aerospace Corporation. As an aerospace engineer, she worked on missions around Jupiter, solar power satellites, and the space shuttle program. She serves on multiple engineering, technology and cybersecurity advisory councils at Princeton University, and was board member of the Society of Women Engineers.

Ms. Hudson a graduate of Princeton University with a BS in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, and attended executive education at Harvard Business School and Columbia University.
