BHTY Welcomes Mate Beštek, National Institute of Public Health, Republic of Slovenia, to Board of Stewards

Mate Beštek holds a leadership role at the National Institute of Public Health, Center for Healthcare Informatics, Republic of Slovenia.  His activities include the strategy, design, development, governance and analysis of eHealth databases and services on the national level and cross-border exchange of patient data and information security governance systems for healthcare informatics. Mate was a Secretary of the Slovenian national eHealth Project, Ministry of Health, where he spearheaded custody agreements in the field of applied solutions. Prior to this appointment he consulted on the European Joint Action project – PARENT, an initiative to establish a European patient registry network for exchanging registry data, and the European Commission Large Scale Project – epSOS, a cross-border exchange of patient data and national requirements for the Patient Summary Document.   Mate received his B.Sc. in computer software engineering at the University of Ljubljana. His PhD thesis project focuses on “Architecture of an Interoperable Platform to Support Digital Healthcare.” He is faculty member of the Business IT department,  IT University of Copenhagen.   Please join us in welcoming Mate Beštek, to the Blockchain and Healthcare Today (BHTY), editorial board.   BHTY - Building Trust Through Truth
